World Circus Day Festival

10.-12.04.2026 | 14th edition
Bratislava

Come and join us for the circus arts at the World Circus Day 2026 festival!

Unforgettable performances by local and international artists, workshops, a fire night, and a accompanying program.

World Circus Day is a regular meeting of circus artists from Slovakia and abroad. Throughout its long tradition, it has already established a firm place in the circus calendar. The 14th edition of the World Circus Day festival begins on Friday, April 10th.

The festival kicks off with a Friday gala show. Students from CirKusKus and artists from various circus fields from Slovakia and abroad will perform at the Karlova Ves Cultural Center. This year, Srikanta Barefoot, a former Cirque du Soleil soloist, will also appear on stage.

The weekend program takes place in the Lamač Sports Hall and its immediate surroundings. The program is filled with workshops, several performances, a fire night, and a supporting program for children and adults.

There is extraordinary interest in the workshops every year. Their structure is designed so that every artist finds what interests them or gets acquainted with something completely new. Workshops are also open to the general public; it is possible to choose a workshop according to level and experience. From this year's selection, we highlight Srikanta's dance-juggling workshops, cyr wheel, aerial acrobatics and hairhanging, juggling, theater workshops, breakdance, or acrobalance.

Simultaneously with the workshops on Saturday, a program for the public will also take place. Circus games, slackline, and circus performances will be prepared not only for families with children. The Dvor zázrakov puppet theater will play a traditional Slovak fairy tale from its repertoire. Campana Batucada will pump up the surroundings with their energetic drumming. Everyone is also welcome at their interactive workshop.

On Saturday late afternoon and evening, a double open stage awaits us. First, youth circus groups will present their cabaret performances, followed by the Open stage. The stage awaits every artist who wants to share their art. There will also be a fire night with free improvisation by fire jugglers.

We will end the Saturday program with a Juggling-party featuring Dejv's interactive video projection and a set by DJDejv, to which juggling clubs might just juggle themselves.

The festival program continues on Sunday. Further workshops will take place until 2:00 PM.

Our goal is to open the world of circus to truly everyone, which is why we are adding the DiversAbility circus workshop to the program. With its inclusive activities, it is extremely suitable even for people with special needs.

Entry to the supporting program and performances on Saturday and to the DiversAbility circus on Sunday is free. For workshops and the program on Friday, it is necessary to purchase tickets.

We recommend following the event's FB page, where we publish all updates and information about the festival.

Accommodation. We offer several options for where to stay during the festival. This year, you can again sleep in the Dancers dance studio, located about a 10-minute walk from the Sports Hall. Sleeping in the Sports Hall is also an option; however, please note that training, club passing, tumbling, and music will continue late into the night. Staying at both of these locations is free of charge.

New for 2026 is the option to stay in a dormitory located about a 15-minute walk from the Sports Hall. If you are interested, please sign up by filling out the form by March 18th. The price is €19 per night.
